On Rees' birthday, he ALWAYS takes the day off and plans a day for himself without any work. Usually he gets a massage, takes me to lunch, shopping, possibly a bike ride, a matinee, dinner, etc. Luckily I get to be part of the equation. Today was not any different than all the other birthdays. He did get his total spa treatment and lots of amazing food and time with me. Birthdays are special at our house. It doesn't matter how old you are, we always have fun! So happy to celebrate with my sweet hub. He is an amazing man and we are lucky to have him in our lives.
Rachel and Garrett made a yummy yellow cake with chocolate frosting from scratch. They also added Heath bar chunks all over the top. Rees had requested this cake for his birthday and was quite surprised to see that the kids payed attention. They are already such good cooks. We didn't have 49 candles, but still put quite a few on top.
